The Indiana Design Center serves as one of the leading resources in the Midwest for fine traditional and contemporary residential and contract furnishings, fabrics, floor coverings, kitchen and bath products, lighting, architectural products, wall coverings, and accessories. Features On-Site Management and Marketing Support On-Site Management and Marketing Support The Indiana Design Center is home to the professional design community and its clients. Professional management is in place to oversee building operations, but more importantly to build and promote business opportunities for tenants and professional designers through promotions and advertising, educational seminars and public and community relations. In the Grand Hall, designers, clients and guests are greeted at the Concierge Desk by a full-time professional staff. Here they are provided with information about the Design Center and its offerings. Designers have access to a full suite of administrative services including courier services, copying, sample drop off and pick up, delivery and mailing services. This special service ensures that guests are welcomed if they arrive without professional design assistance. Designer On-call provides guests with a free one-hour, no obligation design consultation with a professional interior designer on-site at the Indiana Design Center. This introduction educates the guest about the services provided by designers and orients them to the offerings of the Indiana Design Center. Designer On-call is a revenue- generating service for the designers and the showrooms. The Indiana Design Center facilitates the connections between the professional design community, resources and clients. Participating designers, architects, construction professionals, fabricators and artisans are encouraged to present electronic portfolios on-site and on the Indiana Design Center Web site. Located on the main level, the Design Café offers a relaxed atmosphere for designers and their clients to organize their findings and make final product decisions. The café offers alfresco dining including soups, salads and sandwiches. The café also provides an expanded menu for catering private events. The Indiana Design Center pursues an ambitious calendar for in-house events, press releases and promotions to build business for showrooms and professional designers. A marketing fund is used to effectively leverage interest for all building tenants and to educate and inspire consumers to use professional design services. New products, new ideas and new information are shared among professionals through a regular series of events, workshops and presentations. The Indiana Design Center maintains strong alliances with professional trade organizations and hosts events with and for these groups. The Indiana Design Center offers multiple community spaces such as the Grand Hall, the Design Café, and the Design Resource Library where designers and clients can be inspired, relax, socialize, hold meetings and learn about new products and technologies. In addition, these spaces can be rented for special design community celebrations, new product launches, conferences, charitable events, and other related programs to meet the needs of the community. |

| The Indiana Design Center sits at the corner of Range Line Road and 1st Street S.W., in Carmel’s new Arts & Design District. A feature of Mayor Jim Brainard’s vision and master plan for the re-development of Old Town Carmel, the Indiana Design Center is complemented by the new, world-class, 1,600-seat Concert Hall and 500-seat Community Theatre, plus a 15-acre mixed-use development called Carmel City Center, with independent retail shops and restaurants, upscale residential, a boutique hotel and premier office space all currently under construction. The recently completed Central Park and Monon Center recreational facility, along with the Monon Trail, are part of the more than 800-acre park system that adds to the quality of life of Carmel. | ||
