About

Constance Edwards Scopelitis has a degree in Fine Arts from Indiana University. After working as an illustrator for Longman Press in London and NYC she returned to the Midwest and set up her art studio in Indianapolis. Over the years, she left the area twice to study postgraduate at the Art Students League in NYC and open a live-in studio in Laguna Beach, CA. Now, Constance is happy to be based out of the exciting Carmel Arts and Design District.

The art of Constance Edwards Scopelitis has been represented in galleries in Maui, Santa Fe, New Orleans, Palm Desert, Laguna Beach and Las Vegas. She is best known for her portraits of children and in recent years has been immersed in the oil portraiture of adults both famous and private. Her Figurative Paintings have been collected around the world through her national gallery representation. She always tells an interesting story on the canvas and her subjects range from Greek Mythology to Contemporary life. You can find her art locally through Artbox Gallery in Indianapolis and studio visits by luck or appointment.

Constance believes if a patron enters her studio and has the opportunity to view and understand where her images spring from and why and how she chooses to tell her stories through paint, they will be inclined to possess one of her canvases. Being located in the IDC has already improved accessibility for clients to sit with Constance in her studio and catch up on her latest work.

Constance says, “I invite anyone interested in art to come visit, explore, and ask questions. It is an unusual opportunity when you can get to know the actual artist behind the paintings. I have a unique outlook on life and the world around me. If you are intrigued by my passion for creating art, if you can witness how it is made, you just might desire to collect”.
