Connect: Designer-on-Call

Designer-on-Call is a free service available to any IDC guest.  Visitors who do not already have a professional design relationship are welcome to use the Designer-on-Call service where they can meet a professional who will acquaint them with the center and assist them in defining their needs.

A portfolio library is also available on the website and makes it easy for visitors to identify professional designers and review their work. The Indiana Design Center is a source for matching professional designers with new clients.  Click here to learn more or to schedule a complimentary consultation with a designer.

The Design Resource Library

The 4,200 square foot Design Resource Library showcases a collection of design resources (i.e. product binders and reference materials) that provide designers with a single location for research and specification.  The library and building also include event space for educational workshops, networking and client prospecting events.

The Design Reading Room

The Design Reading Room features over 30 national and international design trade publications including Interior Design, Metropolis, House Beautiful, Elle Décor and more. The Design Reading Room is a collection of the best design periodicals from around the world and would cost thousands of dollars if one subscribed to them all.  The Design Reading Room also includes design industry history, coffee table and text books.  Having this collection of books and publications available to trade professionals creates a space devoted specifically to learning and inspiration in the Indiana Design Center, unlike anywhere in the state. The Reading Room is sponsored by D.L. Couch, an Indiana-based commercial wallcoverings company.

Learn: Education & Events

The IDC has a robust event calendar that includes educational workshops, such as C.E.U.’s, designed specifically for the professional design community.  Visit the IDC events calendar for details about in-building, design and arts industry events across the State.
